A Beautifull Story for those in Despair...

An anonymous friend i know was walking the streets, after losing his entire family in a terrible house fire, which he couldnt get over. The memories of that terrible night gnawed at his Soul, and he wished he had died that night...at least he wouldnt be alone anymore. In the end, he just left, and was last seen living rough on the street of London.....Anyway,one night after months of sleeping rough,it was a bitterly cold winters night and he saw a park bench&decided to lie down a while.....
He was cold, ill, hungry & as the cold & pain set into his entire body, he decided to stay where he was, knowing that he would be dead within a few hrs, due to the cold....its what he wanted....Anyway,he fell asleep&after a while, just as his life seemed to be slipping away, he was woken up with a nudge!? He opened his weary eyes and noticed a skinny, brown stray dog sitting next to him by the bench. As he tried to close his eyes, the dog kept nudging his arm&whimpering. So reluctantly he slowly crawled off the bench, patted the poor dog on the head & noticed it was obviously a stray as it was very skinny&shivering with cold.
So being an animal lover, he noticed an allnight cafe over the road from the park&sheepishly asked the owner if he had any scraps of food for the poor mutt. The cafe-owner gave the animal some leftover stew and he was amazed that my friend had the decency&kindness not to ask for anything for himself..only to help the poor little dog, so he offered him a place to sleep in the shop cellar...yeah, it was only a small cellar, but at least it was warm&dry.
To cut a story short,my friend was offered a job, basically just wiping tables, clearing dishes etc, and although he often could be seen trudging the streets after work, sometimes he'd stay in the shop-cellar, alone with his thoughts and sad memories, with the little stray dog, his only source of comfort....A few weeks into working there, the cafe-owner said to my mate how strange is was that even tho the dog was well fed everyday,it never put on weight and always looked straggly..and it also had strange looking eyes??!Oneday as my friend was serving tea to a table, the stray rushed in front of him, tripping him up..tea everywhere!!! It went allover the table&onto a mans portfolio he had as he was obviously having a meeting to do with work.Anyway, after apologising profusely,my old friend was mopping up the mess&as he wiped the mans folder,he noticed it contained plans/drawings...engineering plans. Now years ago,my friend was a senior engineer,so knew his stuff&he saw that whoeverhad drawn up this plan on paper had made some SERIOUS errors in its design! He reluctantly pointed it out to the man at the table, who at first was taken aback&puzzled?!But looking at it with his colleague,he noticed my friend WAS right!!!To cut another part of this story short, the man asked my friend over, had a chat with him&there and then, offered him a job at his company!!!
So weeks later,he began working for this man&within 6months had impressed him so much,he rose up the ranks&within a year, had a nice house, mortgage, car etc...Finally,after all the hurt in his past,it looked like his life had finally turned around&the final happiness in his life happened when the bosses daughter, who was with them at the cafe that fateful day he spilled tea all over them, told him she was in love with him!!So a few months ago,he got married to her,and they life in a wonderful country home and couldn't be happier!!
Remember the dog???
Well the day after they were married, they returned home to prepare for the nextday,as they were due to go on honeymoon...Now,around 11pm,she went to bed and my friend couldnt sleep cos of excitement over the holiday,so he sat in the garden,on his bench...Suddenly,the snow started to fall, and as he sat there, pondering,he realised that exactly 2years to this veryday,he was sat in the snow,on a bench, waiting to die!!So he got thinking about the dog who basically turned up outof the blue, woke him up then he started thinking that if it wasnt for that animal,he wouldnt have made it through that fateful night!!Then all those strange occurrences, the tripping over, the new job,and many other strange events rushed through his mind&many a time the cafe owner&customers used to comment on the dogs constant scruffy, thin appearance&its strange looking eyes!!!So he sat there,wondering,puzzled...there were just TOO MANY strange coincidences...So as he was thinking this,he whistled for the dog who would sleep in his kennel next to the bench in the garden...but unlike normal, the dog never stirred??
Then suddenly out of the corner of his eye,he saw a movement from a field overlooking his garden..it was dark, but as he looked closer he saw it was HIS dog!! The garden was FULLY enclosed,so he couldn't get out??He called out to his dog,but nothing..it just kept on walking with its back to him...Then all of a sudden, just as it was disappearing from view in the darkness, the dog turned, sat down in the snow&looked at him intently, fixing its gaze upon him..and those eyes, they seemed to light up!!!!Then suddenly it nodded to my friend, turned around, and that was it!!Never to be seen again......................
THATS when he realised it WASNT just another dog, but some kind of watcher, a guardian, who finds those Souls who are most desperate&helps them get back from the pit of despair........................
Then 5yrs later when travelling through London for an important Business Meeting, he was sitting in a taxi and as they passed a local Park,he noticed a Tramp seated on a park-bench, and the tramp had obviously been disturbed, as he yawned&stretched his arms as he woke...and lying next to the tramps legs, was a little, skinny brown dog, EXACTLY the same as his old friend!!!
